This year's Blaues Rauschen workshop offers artists, authors, designers, poets and musicians the opportunity to explore the possibilities of data ethics and creative practice. The focus is on the potential of digital data and the possibilities of the artistic scope and strategies. Under the direction of Portrait XO, a 20-minute performance will be developed over the course of three days.

The workshop will therefore focus on the following questions:

  1. How can we democratize digital data and make it usable for everyone?
  2. What responsibility do artists bear when using and processing data in their works?
  3. What new forms of artistic expression arise from the critical examination of data?
  4. How can data be used creatively without unconsciously reproducing power structures and discrimination?
This workshop offers space for open exchange, creative experimentation and new forms of collaboration - for a future in which data is more than a commodity: a means for collective expression and participation.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have in-depth knowledge of the ethical use of data in creative contexts and new strategies in performance art. Furthermore, they will be able to develop tools for a critical reflection and combine theory and artistic practice for a collaborative performance.
